Regi Blue Band

Blues -  Experimental  -Funk

Regi Blue was born on the banks of the Satilla River in Waycross, Georgia.  Her father began taking her  to sing when she was just four years old for extra drinking money. She only knew a couple of Muddy Waters songs. Regi credits her father as being the greatest reason for singing blues music...music from the soul. Her father passed away in '96, her mother in '05, but she still believes they help her whenever they can.

Regi's first encounter with the guitar was when she was twelve initially learning it as an act of rebellion. Her grandmother wanted her to play  the piano so she could play in the church while Regi learned the farthest thing from it - the slide guitar.  She learned to play from an old blues man that lived behind her grand parents house and she got totally hooked.

She credits people like Johnny Winter, Koko Taylor, Janis Joplin and Muddy Walters to be her biggest influences.  Regi has played some of the most prestigious places in the Deep South. Her  fierce guitar playing and her gravelly voice leave audiences mesmerized. Her music spans generations and many styles - her passionate slide guitar and down home rawness keeps you on the edge of your seat and at the time warms your spirit. Just like her music and her live performances, the images from her album are meant to be powerful,  provocative, freeing her inner soul and illuminating her raw beauty. From the Okefenokee swamps to the California coast,  this is pure and undiluted Regi Blue..
